The dangers of non anti-intellectualism
It's a sad indictment on Christianity that we have come to be known as anti-intellectuals. But you can hardly blame people for getting this impression considering some of what they see us do. But that is not what this post is about. This post is about the dangers of non anti-intellectualism. It would be easier to say "intellectualism," but that term has way too much baggage, so "non anti-intellectualism" will have to do for now.
Cain and Esau
How sad is it when we identify more with the enemies of God then those that are in His family? How many times have we heard the phrase (and maybe said it too), “He/she is better than many Christians I know.” When I first read in the Old Testament about how Cain’s offering was rejected, I was indignant! This is not fair! I would have chosen his sacrifice over a blood sacrifice! Here comes Esau
