Why is it very hard to tell your brothers and sisters what they really need to hear?

You watch them hurting themselves and others. Then you start the “last words” scenario in your mind and rehearse what needs to be said. By “last words” I mean the words that a dying person can utter.

Why are we scared to say the truth in love? Isn’t open rebuke better than secret love? Is it our own sin that hinders us? We are not quick to remove the “plank” from our eyes.

These are the thoughts going on in my mind at the moment.

“Last words”… that is a picturesque way of saying it…

I know one reason why I have difficulty doing it is the fear of man.
